Ronald McDonald House Charities of Central Texas supports families with critically ill or injured children by providing programs and support services so they can stay close to their critically ill or injured children. Our four programs include: 1. 30 guest rooms at the Ronald McDonald House located near Dell Children’s Hospital in Austin 2. Seven Ronald McDonald Family Rooms located inside the hospitals where families can rest and recuperate not far from their child. 3. The Happy Wheels Carts stroll five area hospital hallways bringing complimentary items to families waiting by their child’s bedside. 4. And the Healing Hearts program, which supports families who have lost a child through burial assistance and bereavement support. These programs provide much needed support and save families thousands of dollars in lodging and food expenses alone with some families needing 100+ days of lodging. RMHC CTX is a 501(c)3 tax-deductible organization and public charity that relies on contributions from the greater Central Texas community, corporate donors and funders and the local Central Texas McDonald’s owner/operators to continue its mission.

?? Milestone Moment for Ronald McDonald House Charities of Central Texas! ?? We're thrilled to announce our latest partnership with Texas Children’s Hospital in Austin, @texaschildrensatx where we’ve just launched our 7th Happy Wheels Cart in Central Texas! This cart, guided by our amazing volunteers, travels through hospital hallways delivering comfort items—snacks, books, toys, and toiletry kits—right to children’s bedsides. ?? In many cases, a lunch bag from our Happy Wheels Cart is the first meal a parent has had all day, allowing them to stay close to their child’s side. We celebrated this launch with a ribbon-cutting ceremony, marking the beginning of a wonderful collaboration with Texas Children’s Hospital. We’re so grateful to add this incredible institution to our family of hospital partners and to continue supporting families when they need it most. RMHC CTX recently launched our newest Happy Wheels Cart at Texas Children's Hospital North Austin Campus! Sponsored by Primrose Schools in the Greater Austin Area, we are excited to begin serving pediatric and NICU patients in this new hospital. RMHC CTX now proudly operates seven Happy Wheels Carts, serving nine hospitals in the Central Texas area. These carts, powered by dedicated volunteers and stocked by generous donors, are pushed through pediatric hospital hallways, delivering comfort items such as snacks, blankets, toys, books, and toiletries directly to a child’s bedside. This year alone, RMHC CTX has already served over 16,300 individuals through the Happy Wheels Cart program, distributing over 24,200 comfort items to families and children in Central Texas hospitals.
