I am so proud of our students at Central Magnet School for their remarkable work creating #esri #storymaps as part of our RomoGIS #GIS4Good Program. Over the past 5 weeks sutdents have worked diligently though our GIS for Good Curriculum to learn more about how to use GIS for Social Impact. Yesterday they all presnted their storymaps as part of #GISDay in preparation for their future presentations at the upcoming Tennessee GIS Conference. Over the past few weeks, students in the program wrestled with everything from local issues of crime and climate resiliency, to worldwide issues such as the affects of deforestation on indigenous populations. Overall, our goal was to make students aware of the possibilites of using GIS for Social Impact. I am so proud of these students from #Murfreesboro #Tennessee for their leadership, presentations and interest in using #GIS for social impact. Congraulations to all of these remarkable students and a big thank you to Clay Burns for hosting us week after week to help advacne this project of using #GIS4Good. We are excited to continue advancing these students' leadership and GIS skills as they prepare for the upcoming TNGIC - Tennessee Geographic Information Council conference. We are in the process of preparing all of these students to present in April and showcase their great story maps and community impact. Looking forard to the second semester with Clay Burns and these great students from Central Magnet Schol. Great job everyone! Thanks to Chad Segrist , Frank Romo , and R. Michael Cousins, GISP I got the opportunity to go to GIS day hosted at Urban Tech Xchange. Me and my friends Miking Jordan, and Joshua Brooks had a very exciting expirence. Due to my wonderful experience I plan on going again next year.

Mappy #GIS Day! As part of the RomoGIS for Good program, the Intro to GIS class at Central Magnet School created original #StoryMaps and presented them to their classmates and several special guests. As expected, they really knocked it out of the park with these presentations. And this wouldn’t have happened without Frank Romo’s guidance and support. His expertise and passion for GIS has truly energized our program here at Central. Thank you Frank!

As we end the second day of NorthStar Homecoming, we are filled with gratitude and inspiration! Thank you to Linda Harris for her compelling keynote on how GIS can empower communities for lasting impact. We were inspired by Frank Romo, who shared how his work equips communities with the tools to drive their missions. DeAnthony Neal captivated us with his journey as a student learner and leader, emphasizing the importance of lifelong learning and growth.
