“What it's like to work at Romac! After graduating with my Mechanical Engineering degree, I found Romac through a temp-to-hire agency and was hired on as an Engineering Technician. After meeting my new team, I noticed there were so many employees that had been there for over a decade, and some even longer. I thought “they must be doing something right here to keep these great people around” and was quickly reassured that it was in fact true. As a new engineer, I have greatly valued the opportunities to learn and grow, and throughout my five years at Romac I can proudly say that I have been given plenty of opportunities to do so. I grew from an Engineering Technician position in the New Product Development team, to a Project Coordinator at Romac’s foundry Pattern Shop, and then into a Mechanical Engineer in the Daily Operations Group where I’ve worked my way up into a leadership role. The culture at Romac is what has stood out to the most to me during my tenure. Employees are collaborative, friendly, respectful, and all work towards the same goal. The more senior engineers and co-workers have made time to help support my projects/tasks and answer questions I have. I frequently see my manager, out on the production floor, and in the test lab inspecting parts and performing tests. Employees all jump into help one another, and no one is above doing ‘hands-on’ dirty work. I genuinely enjoy working with my coworkers; not only are they great teammates, but great people as well. I feel a lot of pride in the work that I’ve been able to accomplish @ Romac and highly recommend the opportunity, if offered, to anyone interested in becoming an Engineer here. Engineering works hand in hand with production, leveraging production’s knowledge and expertise in their realm to find solutions. There are welders, operators, assemblers, and production supervisors that I regularly speak to and attribute much of what I’ve learned from them. Receiving direct feedback from production has been so valuable for me and it stands out to me as one of the many benefits of being able to work at a place like Romac. As an employee, Romac does a great job of making me feel valued. The Senior Leadership team has acknowledged the times I’ve gone above and beyond, making sure I know how much they appreciate my work. My managers are engaged in my work and invested in helping me grow. A great example of this is how Romac provided me with the opportunity to take a hands-on welding course. My job involves the design of weldments and welded components, and we mutually thought it would be beneficial for me to get the hands-on experience. For all these reasons, I feel lucky to have found a place like Romac to begin my career and look forward to continuing to build my career long term. ”
