关于我们

The Rohan Rajeev Foundation (RRF) is dedicated to preventing avoidable tragedies through heart health education and CPR training, inspired by the story of Rohan Rajeev. We envision a world where everyone is prepared to act in a cardiac emergency, saving lives through prompt action. Our mission comes to life through three key areas: 1. Life-saving CPR Training: We provide CPR and emergency response training to communities, empowering individuals with the skills to save lives when every second counts. We also identify need and facilitate availability of AED's in public settings. 2. Heart Health Awareness Campaigns: We educate communities about heart health risks, prevention strategies, and the importance of quick intervention, creating a proactive approach to health and safety. 3. Scholarships for Future Health Leaders: To honor Rohan's memory, we fund the need-based GATE Scholarship at the Fuqua School of Business (Duke University), fostering a new generation dedicated to making a difference. By increasing public readiness, supporting health education, and equipping future leaders, we’re creating lasting change that touches lives across generations. Join us—whether by learning CPR, sharing our message, or supporting our initiatives—to help us create hope, elevate lives, and safeguard the future

"Six Minutes to Live" Documentary Premieres March 18, 2025 - The public is invited to view "Six Minutes to Live," a powerful short film that chronicles the fight to improve survival rates from sudden cardiac arrest (SCA) through immediate, effective emergency response. This compelling film connects a preventable tragedy from 1999 to groundbreaking investigative journalism and the ongoing mission to eliminate needless deaths from SCA. "Six Minutes to Live" weaves together multiple powerful narratives: ? The heartbreaking case of Julia Rusinek, a 21-year-old who died of SCA steps away from a fire station ? The landmark USA Today series "Six Minutes to Live or Die" that exposed nationwide disparities in emergency care ? The personal journeys of three founders whose lives were transformed by these events and who now lead this vital movement Featured in the documentary are Bob Davis, the paramedic journalist who broke the original story; Hilary Gates, a bystander at Julia's cardiac arrest who was inspired to become a paramedic; and Tom Bouthillet, a paramedic and EMS chief who helped transform his department after reading the series. The film also celebrates success stories like that of Amber Lee Curtiss, who survived SCA thanks to improved systems of care implemented on Hilton Head Island. Without CPR, Every Second Counts—Would You Know What to Do? When cardiac arrest happens, the clock starts ticking. Without CPR: ? Brain damage begins in just 4-6 minutes. ? Death can occur within 10 minutes. Now, here’s the reality: ?? The average ambulance response time is 7-10 minutes—but by then, it could be too late. ?? 92% of people won’t survive cardiac arrest if no one steps in before paramedics arrive. ?? Bystander CPR can double or even triple survival chances. YOU can be the difference. Hands-only CPR is easy to learn and takes just minutes to master. Immediate chest compressions keep blood flowing to the brain and vital organs. Using an AED within 3 minutes can boost survival rates to nearly 70%. At the Rohan Rajeev Foundation, we believe CPR should be as common as knowing how to call 911. Because when seconds matter, a prepared bystander can save a life. ?? Would you know what to do in an emergency? Take a CPR class. Be ready. Be a hero. #CPRAwareness #EverySecondCounts #SaveLives #BystanderCPR #RohanRajeevFoundation

Real life stories....... One of rare cases where there was a positive outcome. Less that 10% of people survive in US when cardiac arrests occur outside the hospital. Learn CPR and be there to save a life!!! At the Rohan Rajeev Foundation, we believe every student, athlete, and community member should be CPR-trained and know where the nearest AED is. Because heroes aren’t just doctors or paramedics—they’re ordinary people who choose to act. ?? Would you know what to do in an emergency? Let’s make CPR training a priority everywhere—from schools to sports facilities. Ethan survived. Others can too.

Ethan King went into cardiac arrest while on a run during his first week of college. No one in his running club knew CPR, but two bystanders stopped and started chest compressions until EMS arrived. Today, Ethan has recovered, returned to class and is running regularly. Most cardiac arrests in the United States occur outside of the hospital, but fewer than 10% of people survive. Learn CPR, and you can help save lives. Read Ethan’s story: https://michmed.org/re3qd

The One Heart Health Habit That Takes Just 5 Minutes a Day What if I told you that 5 minutes a day could improve your heart health and even save your life? No gimmicks. No expensive programs. Just one simple habit: Move for 5 minutes every day. ??♂??? A brisk walk. A few stretches. Taking the stairs instead of the elevator. These small actions may seem insignificant, but over time, they reduce the risk of heart disease, lower blood pressure, and improve circulation. The American Heart Association recommends 150 minutes of exercise per week, but let’s be real—not everyone has time for long workouts. That’s why starting with just 5 minutes can be a game-changer. Small, consistent steps lead to big results. ?? Try this: ? Set a 5-minute movement reminder on your phone. ? Walk during phone calls instead of sitting. ? Do a quick set of jumping jacks or stretches before bed. Your heart doesn’t need perfection—it needs consistency. At the Rohan Rajeev Foundation, we believe that simple, daily habits can save lives. Because taking care of your heart today means a healthier tomorrow. What’s your favorite quick heart-healthy habit? Drop your ideas in the comments! ???? #HeartHealth #HealthyHabits #CPRAwareness #SmallStepsBigImpact #MoveMoreLiveLonger

Sudden cardiac arrest can happen anytime, anywhere—and in those critical moments, bystander CPR can be the difference between life and death. That’s why the Rohan Rajeev Foundation is committed to empowering workplaces, communities, and places of worship with hands-on CPR training. For many student-athletes, the focus is on winning games, beating personal bests, and chasing dreams. But beneath the triumphs and the hard work, there’s a hidden danger: sudden cardiac arrest (SCA). Did you know that SCA is the leading cause of death among young athletes in the U.S.? It’s responsible for about 75% of all athlete-related deaths during exercise, training, or competition. And here’s the truly heartbreaking part: in many cases, lives could be saved if someone nearby knew CPR or how to use an AED. SCA is often silent and unexpected, triggered by undiagnosed heart conditions. The outward signs might include: --Sudden collapse --No breathing or gasping breaths --Loss of consciousness When these signs appear, every second matters. Immediate action can make the difference between life and death. This is why the Rohan Rajeev Foundation is committed to empowering communities with the tools they need: --CPR training for coaches, students, and parents --Access to and education on AEDs (Automated External Defibrillators) --Awareness about the importance of regular heart screenings for athletes We believe that no game, practice, or season should end in tragedy. With the right preparation, student-athletes can chase their dreams knowing their teammates, coaches, and communities are ready to act in an emergency. Are you prepared to respond to sudden cardiac arrest? If not, it’s time to take action. Because saving a life is the most important win of all. #CPRSavesLives #StudentAthletes #SuddenCardiacArrest #HeartHealth #RohanRajeevFoundation #BePrepared
