On November 21, the Office of Alumni Relations had a blast hosting our DC Alumni Hawk Networking event with our undergraduate and School of Law alumni. We look to continue to build our Roger Williams community in the DC area for years to come. Sailing into the future! ?? RWU is excited to announce a transformative $500,000 gift from the Shakin family to endow the Head Sailing Coach position. This gift builds on the program’s continued success as a nationally top-ranked Sailing program. Head Coach Amanda Callahan, who has led the team since 2007, was named the inaugural Shakin Family Head Sailing Coach at the 2024 Captain’s Cup ceremony during this year’s Homecoming weekend. “I am grateful to the Shakin family for their support of our program, which attracts students from all over the world to join our Sailing team and get an excellent education in the best place in the world for both sailing and higher education,” said Callahan. #RogerWilliamsUniversity #CollegeSailing #RhodeIsland

Professor Charlotte Carrington-Farmer’s research is redefining Rhode Island’s history! ??? Her work uncovers the story of Mary Williams, the wife of Roger Williams, as a community leader and healer during the early colonial years. Mary’s literacy was rare and powerful, allowing her to play an active role in the foundation of Providence. With help from her students, Carrington-Farmer is challenging the narrative and shining a light on the untold contributions of women shaping history.
Our Alumni Hawk Family is so proud of our women’s field hockey team as they won their first ever conference championship that will send them to the NCAA Tournament. Let’s go!
