Happy Brooklyn Bridge day! On May 24, 1883, the Brooklyn Bridge officially opened. Chief engineer was Washington Roebling, Class of 1857, and wife Emily Roebling was chief project manager and diplomat. Emily received a posthumous doctorate from RPI at Commencement. #RPI200
