Did you catch Rodney Scott, the legendary pitmaster, on The TODAY Show this morning? If you missed it, don’t worry—watch below as Rodney shares his favorite cookout recipes that are quick to make, providing a speedy alternative to his traditionally slow-cooked classics.
关于我们
Pitmaster Rodney Scott started cooking at his family’s restaurant in rural South Carolina when he was 14 years old. In 2017, Rodney realized his dream to start his own restaurant and along with his partners opened Rodney Scott's BBQ in Charleston, SC. The very next year Rodney was awarded the James Beard Award for Best Chef Southeast. In addition to Charleston, there are now locations of Rodney Scott’s BBQ in Birmingham, Atlanta, with plans to grow in existing and new markets. Each location has working bbq pits and pitmasters trained in the techniques of live-coal cooking that Rodney grew up mastering. Our kitchens produce classic southern side dishes, burgers, salads and our bars offer specialty cocktails and non-alcoholic drinks. Our restaurants evoke the spirit of Rodney’s love of music and people gathering together over a table of great food. A disco ball spins and funk and soul music fills the air. Rodney Scott’s Whole Hog BBQ is a place for everyone where there are no strangers, everyone is family and "Every Day is a Great Day.”

To support the communities of Western North Carolina and Appalachia that were impacted by Hurricane Helene, we’re partnering with Southern Living Magazine, Food & Wine Magazine, Chef Sean Brock, Pihakis Restaurant Group, Weber Grills, and others to host Cookout for the Carolinas, a fundraiser to help the region recover. The food and hospitality industry has been hit especially hard, with thousands of folks out of work, and the Southern Smoke Foundations is a vital organization helping them get back on their feet. Come join us for an afternoon of BBQ, live-fire cooking, and records spun by Chef Sean Brock with Birmingham’s Seasick Records as we try to raise some money for our friends and neighbors who need it. Tickets are available at https://lnkd.in/euDEd9F8 All proceeds from this event will go to support Southern Smoke Foundation and the food, beverage, and hospitality workers of Appalachia.

This is what I LOVE about food, it brings people together. So when a man I truly admire, Chef José Andrés, walked into Rodney Scott's BBQ at Chiefs it was a pinch me moment for the entire Pihakis Restaurant Group family. I know Tyler Ashton took great care of him & he left with a full belly & smelling like BBQ!
