The Leadership Metro South cohort experienced their first program day this month, Arts & Culture! Our first stop on the bus was to the Soundlab space on Skinner Street, Brockton where we held our panel discussion, hosted by Moses Michel from ARTS Foundation Inc. ?Moses shared in the discussion around opportunities, partnerships and collaborations for our youth in the arts world.?Thanks to the other panelists Josephine Farah (New Heights Charter School of Brockton), Jessica Feenan(Rodman for Kids), Sara Goddu (Randolph Public Schools) and Paige Taylor (South Shore Conservatory) for bringing their expertise and passion for ensuring that every child have access to the arts! We then headed to the Stacy Adams Cultural Arts Building for some fun!?Alumna Susie Shaw held a mini paint class for us!?Cohort members brought their creative side to the table and were proud of the new artwork they were able to take home with them!? Chefiatou Falana, founder of Genesis dance therapy presented on the art of dance as therapy, and the history and culture of African dance.?She had us all up and moving! Our final destination was The Gallery at Enso Flats, with our host Arnie Danielson, President of Brockton Arts. ?The artwork was beautiful, and the stories and education into the art world in Brockton as told by Arnie was truly inspiring.?We have so much to be proud of!?And finding that the gallery is available to rent for private parties was an added bonus! B A perfect first program day for this cohort to get to know each other better through art, dance and education!
