  • On January 27th, President Trump signed an executive order to freeze trillions of dollars in federal grants and loans. Of utmost concern to us and our members is the impact that this will have on the agricultural industry and rural communities.? ? The agricultural industry relies on numerous federal grants, loans, and aid for a variety of programs, ranging from farm loans that provide essential credit to farmers and ranchers to purchase land, livestock, and equipment, to funds for marketing that promote American grown food. Our rural communities rely on countless federal grants, loans, and aid for rural development, housing assistance, services for our rural schools and seniors, as well as support for developing and improving rural economies and infrastructure. ? While we appreciate the current court injunction, this still leaves our communities in limbo. RMFU is actively calling on President Trump to rescind this order. We have sent a letter to the Acting Director of the Office of Management and Budget. We have contacted our Congressional Delegation, Governors, and Attorneys General requesting that they also insist Trump rescind his order and continue federal grants, loans and aid on which our farmers, ranchers and rural communities rely.

  • Thank you to all who joined us for a day of learning and fun at Tuff’s Ranch. Over 29 kids enjoyed a jam-packed day with farm animals, cooperative games, planting succulents, and making new friends! The day was made possible by our East Adams/Arapahoe County Farmers Union Chapter, which provided the location and lunch. Thanks to grill master Michelle Skaggs and our RMFU Board Member Barb Marty for helping with all the details throughout the day.
