Margaret Moth, the subject of Never Look Away Directed by Lucy Lawless, represents all things Rocky Mountain Women's Film. She was a pioneer in her field. A wartime photojournalist and videographer, she was bold and daring, and she demanded respect. The New? Zealand photojournalist was instantly recognizable by her jet-black hair, thick eyeliner, combat boots and her dedication to continue filming even when under fire. Her career spanned continents and major conflicts, earning her the respect and admiration of her peers. Moth's dedication to her craft was unparalleled. She demanded assignments in conflict zones, surviving a severe injury in Sarajevo in 1992 when a sniper's bullet shattered her jaw. Despite multiple surgeries and contracting hepatitis C, she returned to the field as soon as she could. We're showing Never Look Away for Pop Up Cinema on August 6 at Ivywild School, Inc. We hope to see you there! https://lnkd.in/d2MjHAmB

We're bringing back one of our all-time favorite events, Drive-in Cinema, for a very special PRIDE event this Saturday! With the help of our friends at Prism Community Collective, Inside Out Youth Services, PFLAG National Colorado Springs, and our many community allies, we're showing Summer Qamp, a documentary by Jen Markowitz about a camp for queer youth. At Camp fYrefly in rural Alberta, queer, non-binary, and trans teens get to just be kids in a supportive space, surrounded by counselors who can relate to their experience ― and help them toast the perfect marshmallow. We're excited to show support for our queer youth and bring our community together for this exciting event! More about Drive-in Cinema and free tickets: https://lnkd.in/gCKjDgK9

Other than the star of the hilarious new hit "Thelma," who IS June Squibb? For starters, she's not your average 94-year-old. After making her Broadway debut in 1959, Squibb went on to lead a 60+ year career as an actor, and she's finally playing her first leading role in a film. As Thelma in "Thelma" directed by Josh Margolin, Squibb portrays the strong-willed Thelma with grit and determination, demonstrating that she is more than capable of taking care of business -- despite what her daughter Gail (Parker Posey), son-in-law Alan (Clark Gregg), or grandson Danny might believe. We're screening "Thelma" as part of our #PopUpCinema series at Ivywild School, Inc. on June 9 at 7 pm. We hope to see you there!
