“You can do it!” is a Rocking the Boat refrain of reassurance stretching back over 26 years, empowering youth to set big goals and achieve them. Here's some of what we accomplished in 2024: - 100% of high school seniors enrolled in college or certificate programs, joining 90% of alumni on track to earn degrees within six years. - Boatbuilders restored a 126-year-old historic wooden rowboat and improved their advanced naval drafting skills. - Environmental participants documented elusive Bronx coyotes, cultivated seaweed in the Bronx River, and cared for bees on our new rooftop hive. - Sailors earned certifications and embarked on tall ship adventures, and even raced on the Bronx River with their heroine Cole Brauer. - The organization celebrated becoming the new concessionaire of Central Park’s famed model boat pond. Following the grand opening of Sail Central Park, an all-RTB-alumni staff welcomed over 7,000 visitors from around the world. - RTB expanded its horizons in a big way this year, marking a milestone with its first-ever program replication in San Francisco! The Bayview-Hunters Point community embraced the new venture enthusiastically, participating in free carpentry and rowing programs at India Basin Waterfront Park. Thriving at three locations is only possible with support from generous friends like you. Thank you for your past support and please renew your gift to Rocking the Boat this #GivingTuesday and help us “get it done!” in 2025! ?? https://give.classy.org/rtb
