Our students are champion readers and because of it, we got to see a winning basketball team! Winthrop University Athletics and Winthrop Women's Basketball put on an awesome game for us today as a part of our Slam Dunk for Second Grade event! The event inspired our students to read like their favorite players. What a great treat to reward their literary journies. Thank you for hosting us!

We are so grateful to the Winthrop Athletics Women's Basketball team! They came to read the book "Despite the Height" by Ivory Latta to our second grade students to inspire them to keep reading. Not only that, but they invited our avid readers to go to Winthrop University to watch a basketball game. How cool is that? We can't wait to see these student-athletes play!

Our students had such a great learning experience at the Middle School Career Fair! Students gathered in the Sullivan Middle School Falcons gym to learn more about different career paths they could follow after graduating. The fair was a huge success! We want to thank everyone who came out to speak with our kids and 100% RHS for supplying the food for our volunteers and teachers.

Today, Lesslie Elementary School held a new festival to celebrate Native American History Month! The inaugural Ye Iswa Festival helped bring culture to our classrooms. Students learned more about Native American culture, specifically Catawba culture. From stamp painting to regalia, our students' learning experiences were vast and educational. Thank you to the Catawba Nation for giving us this amazing learning opportunity!
