关于我们
Rockford Gray offers crisis management counsel, media training and presentation skills coaching. We provide strategic communications guidance for a diverse set of clients in industries varying from healthcare to construction to insurance to entertainment to hospitality to financial services to aerospace, government and more. The partners in Rockford Gray have made careers as journalists. This unique background informs our counsel and training with spokespeople, professional communicators and high-level executives. More than 20 years ago we held our first media skills workshop. That has evolved into small group, large group and one-on-one training that can be delivered over the course of a day or in one-hour chunks. We create scenarios for participants that are recorded and critiqued in real time. We are in the business of helping to prepare for and then manage a crisis. Rockford Gray’s solution to crisis response is four fold: 1. Create or update an actionable Crisis Plan. 2. Train the crisis team on how to execute on that plan through simulation exercises. 3. Provide real-time counsel to clients during crises. 4. Evaluate effectiveness, revise the plan and train again to keep everyone current. For presentation skills training we start by delivering Rockford Gray’s 12 Steps to Better Presentations. And then through videotaping simulated performances by our subject, we are able to identify strengths and weaknesses in the participant’s communication style. From this baseline, we then pinpoint positive communication behaviors that need to be converted into effective communication habits. Rockford Gray is also in the business of providing both strategic direction and media relations counsel either for short-term engagements, or over the length of a campaign. In Summary, our goal in strategic communications consulting is to minimize the client’s time investment and create an efficient communications process that achieves measurable outcomes.

What a great collaboration for two like-minded brands: NOLS and MSR - Mountain Safety Research.
Let’s get cooking! This is such a cool collaboration. Buy an MSR WhisperLite and MSR will donate 100% of profits to a NOLS scholarship fund. Reliable, lightweight, easy to fix, and a true companion in the wild, this is the only stove I’ve used for over 20 years. And, you’ll get a NOLS recipe book with it! A huge thank you to the MSR team for their commitment to empowering outdoor education. #leadership #nols #optoutside TY: Paul Connolly!

We have worked with Tim Wieland for years and this is a loss for the Denver media market, but a huge win for LA. Tim embraced a community-centered approach to?journalism. #newsmatters
I’m excited to share that I’ll be joining the team at CBS Los Angeles – while still keeping my connection to Colorado. Starting next month, I’ll be the regional general manager for both CBS Los Angeles and CBS Colorado. What a tremendous privilege to lead these two top notch teams – I can’t wait to bring them together to leverage the greatness of each station. I’ve been in LA for the last several days meeting the team and starting to talk about our future. The energy and optimism here is very similar to Team CBS Colorado – we’re going to achieve great things together!

Thanks for the shoutout to Jennifer M....Great event, and great participants at the National Information Officers Association conference this week.
Reporter Speaks Out! This is Jennifer Miller, a veteran reporter, now managing partner with Rockford Gray, LLC. She gave insight today at the annual NIOA Conference in Clearwater, Fla., as she spoke from a reporter's viewpoint about disseminating communication during a crisis. Great insight for us PIOs! Few takeaways - * Always think about victims * Your reputation is at stake * Better to have one bad news cycle instead of having multiple bad news cycles * Media are predictable...they will use any visuals, interview victims, and research stories of relevance or past stories * Four stages of media coverage 1 - actual crisis, 2 - focus on victims, 3 - place blame, and 4 - resolution. * "No comment" - Big No-No! * Plan your news conference * Always have a Q&A during your press conference (except on rare situations) I teach crisis communication and appreciate the wonderful relationship with our media partners! Thanks, Jennifer, for keeping it real!

Just because you work for the federal government doesn't mean you can't have a sense of fun.
Dont even ask about the dragons. ?? You’re just going to have to wait. In the meantime, when you’re out in the wild and you see an animal, be it real or mythical, you might wonder if you’re far enough away to keep from engaging said animal. (They really don’t care for small talk.) The “rule of thumb” is an easy way to determine what is a safe distance. You can do this with your coworkers, but be prepared for a quick convo with the supervisor about causing a scene as you walk around blocking everyone with your thumb as you exclaim “not today!” We digress. Hold up your thumb at arm’s length. If the animal bites it off don’t panic, wait, that’s not right. You need to hold your thumb up from a distance. Does your thumb cover the entire animal in question? If you answered yes, then you’re far enough away. If you answered no, then good luck. If you can see the animal around the sides of your thumb, you are too close. This is a great rule that applies to any animal in the wild, from bears to chipmunks to unicorns. Wait, we’ve said too much. Do your part and check out ways to watch wildlife safely at: https://lnkd.in/emufJvfM Image: Screenshot of National Park Service post with the text, “Visitor: When will you tell us where you keep the unicorns? ?? Us: As soon as visitors stop feeding squirrels and taking dangerous selfies with bison, we’ll let you know where the horses with giant spikes on their heads roam.”
