  • We are always so grateful for the support of our community. Thank you to Leadership Rockford, and especially to Gina, Nicole, Danielle, Aisha, and Kaleb for choosing us as one of the organizations! Your support will allow us to continue the work of our mission and make an impact in the lives of our survivors and their families.

???????????????????? ???????????????? ???? ????????????! Our graduating Leadership Rockford participants didn’t just learn about leadership—they put it to work! Over the past 8 months, these dedicated professionals have built leadership skills and enhanced awareness of business, government, and civic issues through interaction and direct involvement with business and community leaders. For their final project, they worked in teams to raise funds for local charities, making a real impact in the Rockford community. This month we will sharing all 10 group projects and the funds they raised! Join us in celebrating their hard work and generosity! Group 1: Rockford Family Peace Center Group Members: Gina Adams, Nicole Babcock, Danielle Glenn, Aisha Moe-Lindvall, & Kaleb Price Total Raised: $1,600 Fundraising Tactic: Elf-Themed benefit with raffle at Olympic Tavern From the group: “Our Leadership Rockford small group held a fundraiser for Rockford Family Peace Center. Before we began much planning, we took a tour of our non-profit so we could learn more about everything they do. One of the many takeaways from our tour and this project was just how equipped they are to gently walk people through the process-- and to be able to have everyone under one roof. We were also shocked to learn FPC has a permanent, remote, and staffed Rockford Police Department office onsite, which includes an internal entrance. To raise money for our amazing non-profit, we partnered with another Chamber member, The Olympic Tavern, because they are a staple within Rockford and have the perfect energy and layout to host a raffle. We asked Zak to help us boost the event through flyers throughout the restaurant, creating and sharing a Facebook event, and we canvased much of Rockford with the event flyers-- because you can't ever bang that gong enough! In addition, Tom McNamara and reps from the Family Peace Center were personally invited to the event. Thankfully, our event was shared by the Greater Rockford Chamber of Commerce, Tom McNamara for Mayor, Family Peace Center, and more on social media. With these major players boosting our event we ended up packing The Olympic Tavern (275 patrons is max) and raising $1,600 within a two-hour window!”
