Rockford Center is excited to kick off Day 1 at the Delaware Psychological Association’s 22nd Annual Conference! We’re thrilled to connect with psychologists and future professionals from around the state, sharing our resources and supporting their education in mental health. Hearing from so many psychologists who began their careers with Rockford, even back at our original Wilmington campus, demonstrates the impact Rockford has had over the last 50 years. November is National Veterans and Military Families Month, a time dedicated to honoring the sacrifices of veterans, active-duty service members, and their families. This month, we recognize the immense contributions of those serve, along with the resilience and support of their families, who play a vital role in enabling them to fulfill their duties.

We were a proud participant of La Red Health Center’s, “La Red Goes Purple" event on Wednesday, Oct. 23, 2024, at their Georgetown location to connect Sussex County residents affected by opioid dependence with health care and community resources. It was a beautiful day filled with providing people with hope and solidarity as we all look for ways to combat the opioid crisis.

October is recognized as Domestic Violence Awareness Month, a time to raise awareness about domestic violence, support survivors, and educate the public on ways to prevent abuse. Raising awareness and providing resources are crucial steps toward ending domestic violence and ensuring safety and support for all individuals affected by abuse. We were proud to be present at the Eighth Annual Super Senator Day held at Dover High School this past Saturday. Super Senator Day is an annual event to thank the community for its on-going support and to showcase all of the great things happening in the Capital School District. Thank you to the district for having the Rockford Center take part.

World Mental Health Day takes place every year on October 10th to spotlight mental health around the world, raise awareness of mental health and encourage efforts to support those experiencing mental health issues.

With the assistance of the Creative Therapy Department patients created fall-themed trees with messages of hope and inspiration. Not only does this beautify the hospital environment but also provides emotional support and encouragement to patients. Engaging in creative activities like this can enhance well-being and foster a sense of community among patients.

This weekend, Rockford Center cheered on the runners and walkers as they crossed the finish line at the annual OBVIOUS 5K Run/Walk hosted by the Medical Society of Delaware. It was a fantastic opportunity to connect with the community, get some sun, and share valuable resources on mental health and be a trusted provider folks can turn to when in need. Special thanks to all the community partners in attendance and to the Medical Society of Delaware for putting on another successful race, bringing together providers and families for a great cause.

Community Liaison, Desmond Wynn was all smiles at South Dover Elementary for their Back to School Event where he provided mental health resources to students and families. The beginning of the school year can be filled with anxiety and stress. We were thankful for the opportunity to be there as a means for help.
