Teaching acceptance isn't easy. You can tell kids about disabilities with words, but it doesn't hit that point of understanding and compassion that interaction does. Percy spends every day of his life being unapologetically his authentic self, and the students at his school see him for who he is. Last night was a rough one in our home and he was still sleepy, so he laid down during launch. No one looked at him weird. No one stared and giggled or whispered. They know this is Percy and this is what he does. Yesterday he was laying on the ground pretending to swim. Same thing. #MeaningfulInclusion is good for more than just the special needs students. It gives the general education students an education they cannot get when the special needs students are secluded. Thank you Rocketship Public Schools for providing this level of understanding
