These past 5 years have been some of the most important in our 40+ year history and we are so incredibly proud of the team that stood by us through it all! We have been working with TKFabricate, King + King Architects, Taitem Engineering, Purcell Construction Corporation, and NYSERDA since 2018 to develop and deliver an exciting project that is the first of its kind in New York State. Without this group’s unwavering dedication to the goals of Retrofit NY – through common industry challenges, as well as unprecedented global disruptions – this project could not happen. It also would not happen without the development gap support from the New York City Energy Efficiency Corporation (NYCEEC) and our long term partners at the USDA. Going back a little further than the past 5 years… it’s extra special that a childhood friend of mine, Crystal DeStefano, APR, with Strategic Communications (and Alice Maggiore!) helped us present this project to the world and hopefully inspire more building and property managers to adopt some of these readily available technologies. Thank you to syracuse.com and the Central New York Business Journal for featuring this first-of-its-kind pilot project in New York State to improve energy efficiency and sustainability in affordable and senior housing.? ? And this is a story of several “firsts.” We’re not only using first-of-its kind technology… Did you know that our Christopher Court is the FIRST property to be selected for NYSERDA’s Retrofit NY Program outside of NYC’s 5 boroughs? ? Projects like this demonstrate that we can preserve existing affordable housing buildings by employing pre-fabrication to save energy, time, and resources. This allows affordable housing to be maintained for decades without disruption or expending additional resources to pursue new construction.? ? We’re honored to play a role in shaping the future of sustainable housing and we’re eager to continue exploring opportunities to collaborate with government leaders and industry partners in 2025 and beyond.
