?? The start has been made: Last week, more than 500 roboticists met for the first time at the German Robotics Conference (#GRC) in Nuremberg. ‘Use this event to exchange ideas and network,’ urged Prof. Angela Schoellig at the start of the three-day event. Those who wanted to get hands-on chose between demos like sensitive hands, single-wheeled robots, and intelligent hoovers. Those who wanted to immerse themselves scientifically participated in lectures and discussion rounds or attended paper sessions. A total of over 280 scientific papers were submitted. Special thanks to the speaker of RIG and co-organizer of the congress, Prof. Tamim Asfour. ?? Engelbert Beyer from the Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF) finally attested to the event's unique atmosphere: "The Robotics Institute Germany (RIG) is the key initiative of BMBF's Robotics Research Action Plan. It's great to see what the RIG has already achieved. The first German Robotics Conference impressively demonstrated how robotics and AI can and will change the world. Whether humanoid robots, assistive systems, or intelligent hands and vehicles, many interesting demos could be experienced on-site. The enthusiasm with which young researchers, in particular, are tackling the topics of the future was impressive. That is also why we support this initiative, which is groundbreaking beyond Germany.” ?? And Hubert Aiwanger, Bavarian Minister of State for Economic Affairs, did not miss out on the demos on the fringes of the GRC, shaking hands with the prosthesis of the future, being introduced to the start-up Roundpeg and being shown how hoovers will be able to find out even better in future what they should and should not vacuum up. For him, it is clear "that robots will become a mass product in the future. Robots will be part of everyday life, in craftsmen's workshops and private households." ?? Thanks to everyone who organized the event, gave presentations, participated in discussions, showed demos, and presented papers. We are excited to see you next time. #HightechAgenda #Robotics #AI #GRC2025 #RoboticsInstituteGermany #AIPoweredRobotics Special thanks to our partners: Technical University of Munich, Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT), The University of Bonn, Technische Universit?t Berlin – International, Technische Universit?t Darmstadt, University of Bremen, University of Stuttgart, RWTH Aachen University, Technische Universit?t Dresden, University of Technology Nuremberg, German Aerospace Center (DLR), Max Planck Institute for Intelligent Systems, Fraunhofer IML, Fraunhofer IOSB, Fraunhofer IPA, Deutsches Forschungszentrum für Künstliche Intelligenz (DFKI).
