Having worked as a secretarial recruitment agent since 1992, I want to bring back to the market the old style of recruitment. As a one-man band I am not driven by targets and sales, my style is very much the personal approach. I go through every CV and make sure that I have met everyone that then goes through to a client as I understand the need to make sure that the personality and cultural fit is correct. My candidates are specifically picked, not just based on where they have worked and their education qualifications, but on their upbeat energy and enthusiasm for their profession. Most of my clients come via recommendation which is really gratifying and my aim is to make sure that a client has as wide a choice as possible in order to make their selection. Whilst I rely heavily on a large candidate database, where appropriate I will advertise a role just to make sure I am not missing out on an ideal candidate. A vast number of my candidates are also recommended to me and I take great pride in getting to know them personally and keeping relationships going over a number of years. Many of my candidates approach me when they are in a position to recruit and I really enjoy the fact that many of the people that I liaise with on a daily basis are like old friends!
