Umberto Bonavita Leads Sale of 44.5-Meter Sanlorenzo Yachts Superyacht Kamakasa Robert Allen Law partner Umberto Bonavita advised the Seller in the sale of the 44.5-meter Sanlorenzo superyacht Kamakasa. The transaction, guided by Mr. Bonavita from negotiation to completion, closed in the Bahamas on February 14, 2025. He was supported by RAL partner Roberto Rodriguez Allen and yacht law paralegal Julie Dunham. Key contributors included yacht manager Gianfranco DiCostanzo of NauticALL as well as yacht brokers Boomer Jousma of the Italian Yacht Group, for the Seller, and Tony Maggio of Germain Yachts of Staten Island, for the Buyer. M/Y Kamakasa is the only 44-meter alloy Sanlorenzo currently in the Western Hemisphere. The yacht remains Cayman Islands-flagged. Mr. Bonavita has been recognized by the Chambers and Partners’ Chambers Guide as one of the world’s leading practitioners in the area of yacht law and acts as outside counsel to several of the world’s leading superyacht builders.

A successful closing was completed by Umberto Bonavita, senior partner at Robert Allen Law, and senior yacht paralegal Julie Dunham, who represented the Buyer of a 2024 40-meter Baglietto Yachts , M/Y Barbara Anne. Sean Fenniman, Allied Marine, represented the Buyer and John Wood, Seawood Yachts, represented the Seller.? The closing occurred off the coast of Monaco just two days before the start of the 2024 Monaco Yacht Show S.A.M. and the yacht was then displayed at the Show. The transaction was done in the tail end of the summer and involved cross-border issues comprising multiple jurisdictions which were managed and resolved.? The Vessel, formerly flagged in Malta, now flies the Cayman Islands flag. M/Y Barbara Anne stands as a testament to Italian craftsmanship, featuring an exterior design by Stefano Vafiadis.
