When it comes to your marketing strategy there are a multitude of ways you can improve your marketing efforts. Here are just 4 of the many: ?? You've heard it a million times. Tell your story. We're not talking about what year you were established and how much you've accomplished. We're talking about the nitty gritty, tiny details about why you do this and why someone who's buying your product would care. ?? Make sure you're not talking just to talk and have an audience that is actually interested. Talking to people who have no interest (or clue) what you're talking about is only wasting you time and money. ?? Not updating your website (and all of your marketing materials) is hurting you. Just because you have them already created doesn't mean they're working for you how they used to. Work on that website. Update pictures, SEO probably needs work, and get some new content uploaded. ?? Being consistent. It doesn't matter if we're talking social media or branding or post card mailers, it all requires consistency. Making sure you're posting on social media religiously, sending out monthly blogs or newsletters, maintaining the correct brand voice, color, and messages, etc. The list goes on, but those two little words (be consistent) pack a punch!

Today is National Dog Day and I couldn’t wait to share my favorite dog around! Lily!! She’s an 11 year old blue heeler, border collie, Australian Shepard mix. I couldn’t have asked for a more kind, loving, smart, and soft dog. What is your favorite part of owning a dog?

I’m always honored when I’m asked to share my story! The Iowa Soybean Association reached out to me and asked if I would be open to sharing why I love being involved in agriculture and the Soy Leaders Network. Of course, I said yes! Being involved in the ag world is incredibly important to me and I’m so glad I’m involved in organizations that work hard to work right alongside their members.

Roan is a proud sponsor of awards for the Jones County 4-H livestock shows. These kids work so hard all year and really earn these ribbons/plaques/trophies. This year, we sponsored 4 different livestock awards; horse, swine, poultry, and sheep. And in this picture are two thank you cards from 4Hers that received the awards. (Fair was just last week and I’ve already received 2. That’s impressive!) We don’t need thank you cards and that’s not why we sponsor them, but it sure is great to see who won and their appreciation.

Happy 4th of July!! For farmers, this has always been an indicator of how well their corn crop has grown. The old saying, "knee high by the 4th of July" means exactly what it states. If your corn plant is knee high then your crop is right on target. These days, thanks to technology, corn crops are well past your knee by the 4th of July, but it's still a fun saying that reminds us all just how far we've come!
