Our ROAM Share team had a great time in Philadelphia at the?North American Bikeshare & Scootershare Association?2024 Annual Conference! With representation from Heartland Bike Share and BikeLNK (as well as our friends from Des Moines BCycle), it was a great opportunity to share experience with micromobility as transportation and to make great connections. ?? Proud of this community programming coming from Heartland Bike Share and friends to engage our Omaha/Council Bluffs community and get more folks on bikes.
Join Heartland Bike Share & Friends on?Saturday Oct. 19th at 3:00pm?for the Inaugural?We on Wheels (W.o.W.)?community bike ride! W.o.W. is a FREE community?bike ride designed to connect neighborhoods and communities through exploration?of?multimodal transportation infrastructure and unique?places throughout Greater Omaha and Council Bluffs. Think about it like a mobile party on wheels! For our inaugural ride, we'll depart from?Gifford Park, roll Burt St. to Millwork Commons, traverse the Bob Kerrey Pedestrian Bridge, and head down the FIRST AVE trail in?CB. Pretty rad, right? Our first 75 registrants will receive a FREE W.o.W. t-shirt, and we'll have more fun updates ahead of the ride.?Need access to a bike so?you can ride? Heartland Bike Share will be providing 30 HBS ebikes (available first come?first serve) for this ride -- just let us know you need one on the RSVP. Want an annual HBS membership? Join us for the ride and we can hook you up with our Reduced Cost Membership. ?? Two weeks ago, the Nebraska Legislature introduced LB1250, a bill that would provide state-level grant funding for bikeshare programs. An encouraging action, this bill shows that other states could do the same for bikeshare and scootershare. Read more in our recent blog post! https://lnkd.in/gx_AVFd3
