    Attn Job Seekers: your #values can get you #interviews?? Job search conditions have changed, so I asked leaders working at companies we ?? a hard question. What do you hire for when 100+ candidates meet criteria? Jheel Jawharkar (Adobe, ex DocuSign, Sephora) shared that she: - Does not care if you worked at a Google or Apple - Does not care if you went to a prestigious university - Does not care if your metrics show huge numbers She cares about values. It's not hard to find candidates who meet the criteria, but it's not easy to find candidates who genuinely care about the team, or have the grit to achieve results in the toughest conditions. To stand out, share about the values that make you a human at work.

    What's got you inspired for 2024? ?? Diversity in tech! Today, Founders Theo Yeung and Jordan Lopez told me that hiring women is a top priority at The Bullpen. I've heard this from leaders at fast-growing startups before, but they meant it. Theo and Jordan lead a team of 8 and are hiring more in Q1. Hiring for diversity + building career pathways at growth-stage startups is hard, but Theo and Jordan do it. In 2023 they: ?? Increased salaries for key roles by 50% or more ?? Promoted two people in 9 months or less ?? Built a team that is 60% underrepresented ?? When people talk about diversity in tech I love to ask when they last promoted a woman. The answer was easy for the founders of The Bullpen: "We hired a woman eight months ago for a Business Development role. Today, she's leading a team of BDRs."
