Building homes, communities and hope in the Greater Richmond area.
关于我们
As a proud affiliate of Habitat for Humanity International, Richmond Metropolitan Habitat for Humanity has been putting faith into actions in our community since 1986, partnering with local families and individuals to build more than 390 homes in the City of Richmond, Henrico County, and Chesterfield County. At our core, Habitat for Humanity is a nonprofit organization that helps families build and improve places to call their home. We believe affordable housing plays a role that is critical in building strong and stable communities. By coordinating and working with dedicated volunteers, community partners, and corporate sponsors, families are able to purchase and move into houses they help build themselves—allowing them to truly have a safe place they can call home.

“We are so grateful and blessed for this opportunity to become homeowners. I am especially thankful for all of the volunteers and workers who worked alongside us throughout the process and took the time to build a beautiful forever home for us. This is a dream come true.” - Patricia, our newest Habitat homeowner We were fortunate to celebrate with Patricia, David, and their six children at their Home Dedication earlier this week! When they started in the Homeownership program, the family lived in an overcrowded, three-bedroom apartment without a safe space outside where the children could play. While working through the program, the family moved to one of our Affordable Rentals where they could continue to save for their future. Now that their house is finished, they are excited to purchase it and have space for family gatherings and a backyard for their children! #HabitatforHumanity #Homeownership #AffordableHousing #RVA

At Richmond Habitat, we have been fortunate to meet some generous people over our nearly 40 years in operation. Learn more about a few of those generous individuals – one who donated his home to Habitat more than a decade ago, and another who donated some of the proceeds from that home back to Habitat: https://lnkd.in/dwaV5bdi

In Virginia, 1 in 8 households pay more than HALF of their paycheck on their housing. Together, we can change this. Tell your member of Congress that bold action is needed to increase the supply of affordable homes!
