Welcome Home, Jeff Bekos!??? This Monday, we had the honor of welcoming Jeff Bekos back to Philly after his incredible 3,000+ mile bike ride across the country to raise funds and awareness for Ronald McDonald Houses.?Inspired by the support his family received from the House while his daughter received life-saving medical treatment 10 years ago, Jeff’s journey included stopping at Houses nationwide, and raising over $700,000 for families in need. With a police escort down Chestnut Street, Jeff crossed the finish line to cheers from our RMHC Philly community! Thank you, Jeff, for your tireless effort to support our families!

Today is our 50th Birthday! ? As the first Ronald McDonald House in the world, we’re proud to celebrate 50 years providing comfort and hope to families with seriously ill children. Starting as a seven-bedroom house on Spruce Street, we now offer 147 bedrooms in two Houses, three lounges in local hospitals, a mobile clinic providing free dental care, and a summer camp for kids with cancer! ? The model that started right here in Philly has spread to over 385 Houses around the world.? ? On behalf of the thousands of families who have relied on us for support since 1974, thank you for your generosity, kindness, and steadfast support! We couldn’t have reached this milestone without our incredible community of supporters. ? To make this milestone even more special, every donation will be matched up to $50,000 by the Maher Family, a grateful former guest family who stayed at our Chestnut Street House 20 years ago.

As we celebrate our 50th Anniversary, we're excited to share that all donations made this week will be matched up to $50,000 thanks to the generosity of our friends and former RMHC Philly guests, the Maher Family. In 2004, the Mahers spent nearly five months at our Chestnut Street House while their newborn daughter, Sarah, received treatment for spina bifida. Today, Sarah is thriving as a sophomore at Pomona College! Grateful for the care they received, Sarah’s family is paying it forward to ensure other families find the same comfort they once did. It's #PhillyFirstFriday! Today, we’re proud to feature the opening of our second Ronald McDonald Family Room at CHOP, located in the Seashore House in 2019! This Family Room offers a quiet, welcoming space for caregivers to rest and recharge while staying close to their child’s bedside. Each year, about one-third of the families who use our Family Rooms live too close to stay at our Houses, showing how essential these rooms are for local families. With snacks, activities, and a calm space, we are thankful to be able to help families find moments of peace during their child's hospital stay.
