February is American Heart Month, so to close out this month, we want to share a special story from the Fletcher family for #FamilyFriday. Annabelle has Hypoplastic Left Heart Syndrome, so she's missing the left side of her heart. She's had multiple open heart surgeries by this point. "Something about entering these doors is you don't feel alone anymore. It enables you to concentrate on what you're really here for, your child across the road. So, there is no more important mission than what the Ronald McDonald House does. The doors are always open to those who need it." - Stephanie and Derek Fletcher Stephanie now serves on our Board of Directors and brings invaluable knowledge as a past RMH family. Her and Derek are great advocates for heart health and began the A Heart Like Mine Foundation. The whole family, including Annabelle, returns to volunteer in the Ronald McDonald House any time they can. They love to cook meals or throw themed parties for families to brighten everyone's mood. Meet Amiracle, our passionate Kitchen Manager at RMH Little Rock! Since joining us in November 2024, Amiracle has been leading our kitchen with love and dedication, ensuring every dish is crafted with care and quality. Her grandmother inspired her culinary journey, whose love for feeding others sparked Amiracle's passion for bringing people together through food. As a chef, she believes food is more than just a meal—it’s an opportunity to share a part of her soul and create lasting memories. Amiracle’s role involves overseeing daily kitchen operations, managing inventory, ensuring food safety, and leading volunteers, all while keeping the kitchen a place of warmth and joy. The most rewarding part? The gratitude from families who enjoy a home-cooked meal and the joy it brings them. Beyond the kitchen, Amiracle is a dedicated mother and the founder of Virtuous Touch, a non-profit that helps assault survivors reclaim their strength. As a licensed esthetician and motivational speaker, she also mentors and advocates for women and young girls, offering a supportive environment for healing. This #ThankfulThursday, we are highlighting our 2024 Volunteer of the Year! We were honored to attend a church service earlier this month to present the Sam Perroni Volunteer of the Year Award for 2024 to the wonderful people of this congregation. Wesley Chapel UMC has been a long-time volunteer, providing hundreds of meals for families over the years, whether they came over to cook or supported our meals program financially.
