I've helped over 100 people get their LinkedIn accounts back.
Why?
Because at one point, I had to get mine back.
Here are some harsh but real truths:
-This space is their BBQ, their party, etc., and they decide who's invited and gets to stay here.
-Your platform loyalty, your "authenticity," "value," "valuable content," e.g., how great you think you are/strangers have made you THINK you are MEANS NOTHING!
-Follower count - LOL, MEANS LESS THAN NOTHING: When it happened to me, I was at 280K, yet I was talking and posting about things in 2020-2021 no one could safely talk about.
-There's a defined process for getting an account back. It's characterized by clear thinking, 0.000 emotion, sticking to the facts, extreme patience yet persistency, and humility on the level of washing a stranger's feet.
-The LinkedIn Trust and Safety Team(s): They are good people, really they are. But they operate from a script, by necessity, and most of the time, they deal with fakes, real violations, and generally bad people intending harm to good people. Hence, you will need extreme patience if you are one of the good people.
-NO ONE misses you AS MUCH as you think OR AS MUCH as you miss being missed.
Finally, the experience with my account and many others has taught me just how insignificant social media can and will become when you lose access.
It taught me how popularity from complete strangers or 300 million views isn't real life.
-Breaking bread with estranged family members - real life.
-Unexpected forgiveness for being a mess - real life.
-Helping someone over an addiction - real life.?
-Being okay with "okay" - the very best life.
