*** SCAM WARNING *** As RMAIIG grows, we are seeing an increase in scam postings on Slack, Meetup, and LinkedIn targeting our members. One RMAIIG member has already fallen victim and lost money, unfortunately. 1. If a post offers something for free (e.g., "Free MacBook Air") or involves buying/selling (e.g., "How do I sell my Red Rocks tickets?"), it's likely a scam. 2. These posts will be removed immediately, and the account responsible will be deactivated. 3. If you want to give something away, bring it to a meeting—please do not post it on our channels. If you need to sell something, please visit any of the 3,482 places online where this is appropriate. 4. If you see a suspicious post, report it immediately to [email protected] or any RMAIIG Board member or subgroup leader. Thanks for helping us keep RMAIIG safe from scams. Your vigilance makes a difference! *** SCAM WARNING ***

I had a blast demoing "Von Puppenstein" at the latest Rocky Mountain AI Interest Group (RMAIIG) event! It was an honor to share the stage with Trevor Uptain and Christian Robins. I learned a lot about scaling call center technologies from a Y-Combinator backed expert, and the incredible ways AI is transforming post at the production powerhouse 11 Dollar Bill. Demo details: Live voice cloning made possible by Cartesia, which is also used for TTS. Understanding of the video feed and generating text for speech is handled by Google AI for Developers #Gemini. The hardware is Rob Knight's open source SO-ARM100 from The Robot Studio (who is also planning to release H.O.P.E. Jr, which the Brain Wave Collective would build if anyone wants to sponsor a project for RMAIIG's November humanoid robotics meetup). Robot control, teleoperation, and the #ML training framework is Hugging Face's open source #LeRobot library supported by Remi Cadene. Observability is handled by an Arize AI Phoenix server. The related application is an extension of a conversational AI hackathon that I did with some friends Junaid Dawud and Alex Volkov. Everything is self contained and portable thanks to a Raspberry Pi. Background music by Suno, with synthetic voices made possible thanks to our brave volunteers. Also, a shot out to Boulder Public Library's Building 61 for last minute support. Thank you Bobby Hodgkinson and University of Colorado Boulder for being such incredible hosts, Anna Rahn and Richard Gann for event operations, and Dan Murray for everything you have you have done to maintain such an incredible community.

Last night’s Rocky Mountain AI Interest Group (RMAIIG) meeting in Boulder was a fun deep dive into the future of Voice AI and human-machine interaction. Thanks to everyone who attended and made the event possible! Our speakers shared their latest insights and expertise into conversational AI, voice synthesis, real-time cloning, and how Voice AI is transforming industries from insurance to media production. Their presentations and engaging discussions gave us a clearer picture of how AI-powered voices are reshaping the way we communicate, create, and interact. Fasten your seatbelts! A big thank you to our awesome speakers for their interesting presentations: Trevor Uptain from Medicare Vox on scaling Voice AI for regulated industries Daniel Ritchie from Brain Wave Collective on real-time voice cloning and AI-powered robotics Christian Robins from 11 Dollar Bill on AI-driven media production and creative storytelling We’re also incredibly grateful to Tim Morrissey, Ph.D. from Drive Capital for sponsoring pizza, keeping the room energized for great discussions. On May 14th, we're hosting our second Member Showcase! Local companies and community members are invited to present their AI projects during a trade fair-style event. The showcase has two parts: tabling in the lobby, and presenting in the lecture hall. During the tabling, event attendees will walk around the lobby, look at various projects/participate in demos, ask questions to presenters, learn about new technology, and eat free pizza. The top projects from the tabling segment, decided by popular vote, will have the opportunity to present in the lecture hall afterwards to our full audience. Interested in presenting? Apply here by May 1st: https://lnkd.in/g-vvF5yf If we receive more applications than we have available spots, a selection committee will choose which projects are invited to table. Have questions? DM us, or reach out to Anna Rahn! #aiprojects #rmaiig #ai #technology #coloradotech

Here’s a big RMAIIG welcome to our newest subgroup, AI & Product, run by Lauri Hofherr with help from Gary Fox and Jen Hanson! We’re excited to have you guys join the community!
??Last night I had the honor of introducing AI & Product as the newest subgroup at the Rocky Mountain AI Interest Group (RMAIIG) meeting. We’re diving headfirst into the wild world of AI and how it’s transforming Product Management—because let’s be real, this role is changing fast. Join our group as we will be tackling: ?? Using AI tools to level up as a PM ?? How to actually product manage AI products ?? What it means when AI is not just your feature—but your teammate, your competitor, and maybe your boss (???) Next week we kick off our first official meeting https://lnkd.in/gnzKvrfq I’ve already had incredible convos with this community—equal parts excitement and existential dread (fun!). AI is reshaping our jobs, our teams, and our industry, and I’m here for every messy, thrilling part of it. Big props to Gary Fox (photo credit) and Jen Hanson for being part of this team making it all happen. If you’re a PM (or AI-curious human) trying to make sense of all this, join us https://lnkd.in/g37e7u_h. Let’s figure it out together. ?? #AIProductManagement #AIandProduct #ProductManagement #AIRevolution #FutureOfWork

Andres Sepulveda Morales thanks for all your hard work in AI community building in Fort Collins, northern Colorado and beyond! Everyone, if you haven't plugged into Andres' group, "FoCo AI for Everyone" check it out here (even if, and maybe especially if you're not an AI expert!): https://lnkd.in/g6csEE5W
? The Red Mage of AI | Creative Technologist & Strategist | Fort Collins AI for Everyone Lead | Crafting Ethical Digital Spells with AI, Data Engineering & Full-Stack Magic
A brief moment at Founded in FoCo yesterday stuck with me and frankly made my day. "Your AI group made me feel genuinely welcome," someone told me during an intermission. They mentioned having barely any AI background before stopping by FoCo AI, but felt comfortable enough to participate anyway in March. Still grinning ear to ear sharing this today. That's**exactly** what I've been working so hard for with these sessions. It's why the tagline is "for Everyone," crazily enough. While discussing the latest in AI is important, we can do so through building a community in Fort Collins where the tech-curious connect with the tech-savvy, and nobody gets left behind. Is it really community if it's anything less? If you're in the same boat and have been hesitant to explore AI because it seems intimidating, you're welcome to join us on April 14th for Holistic AI Impact! Whether it's the environment, socially, or anywhere in between, there's impact to talk about at all levels of AI awareness. REGISTER HERE: https://lnkd.in/gx4sR48V

Thanks to our "pizza hero" meeting sponsor, Tim Morrissey, Ph.D. from Drive Capital, for providing pizza to our 200 attendees at the Rocky Mountain AI Interest Group (RMAIIG) meeting tomorrow on “AI Voice Technology." (We wish we could invite more attendees, but alas, the meeting is full with over 80 people on the waiting list.) Our group relies on generous sponsorships like this, and we couldn't do it without our community supporters, including Sonya Hausafus and Dave Mayer. If you'd like to sponsor a future meeting, please reach out any time. (No requirement to wear pizza-themed pteruges, so don't worry!) Drive Capital is a stage-agnostic venture capital firm investing in technical founders building companies in large markets.?With over $2.2B in assets under management, Drive is a permanent capital partner throughout your company's journey, whether you need your first $500K to launch or your last $150M before going public.
