Upcoming Winter 2025 Audit Intern @RSM | Student at California State University, Long Beach
Over the summer, I had the privilege of spending 8 transformative weeks with the amazing team at RKE LLP. Throughout my internship, I gained eye-opening knowledge towards the public accounting field and was able to immerse myself into the procedure of tax preparation from start to finish. Three core values that resonated with me over the course of my internship were: ???Collaboration: I seized every opportunity to collaborate and learn from professionals across all levels of the firm, from staff to partners. The open and inclusive culture at RKE encouraged me to ask questions and actively participate in discussions. From this, I gained a deeper perspective on the decision-making process in public accounting and the dependency of teamwork on the success of delivering high-quality work to clients. ??Learning & Development: The hands-on exposure I received was invaluable in shaping my understanding of the tax process. Each day brought new challenges, from mastering tax software like ProSystem fx? Tax and ProSystem fx? Engagement to applying tax concepts in real-world scenarios. Seeing tax projects progress from initial data collection to final review helped me appreciate the attention to detail required in this field. The mentorship I received from the team encouraged constant growth and pushed me to think critically about tax strategies and compliance. ???????? Relationship Building: The people I worked with defined my experience at RKE. Building strong relationships was not just encouraged but ingrained in the firm's culture. The guidance I received from compassionate, knowledgeable professionals made me feel supported every step of the way. I also had the pleasure of working with an outstanding group of interns who, along with the staff, helped create an environment where learning and camaraderie flourished. These connections enriched my experience and reinforced how crucial relationship-building is in the professional world. A heartfelt thank you to the entire RKE team for making my summer 2024 internship such an unforgettable experience. Your mentorship and support played a pivotal role in my initial steps toward a career in public accounting, and I look forward to applying all that I’ve learned in the future!
