We are thrilled to announce major advancements for the International Semiconductor Industry Group (ISIG) following recent strategic meetings in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Our CEO, Salah Nasri has laid essential groundwork to propel our Members forward, underscoring the first-mover advantage for early adopters in the region. At the core of our trip was a pivotal meeting with His Excellency Abdullah Alswaha of Communications and Information Technology, marking the official launch of the International Semiconductor Executive Summit - Middle East on February 12th, 2025 in Riyadh. This landmark event will coincide with LEAP, the region’s largest tech conference, showcasing state-of-the-art innovations that shape the tech industry. A highlight of the visit was engaging with Puneet Kumar CEO of Rivos Inc., whose expertise and insight into the global semiconductor industry bring invaluable perspectives to the summit. With Rivos at the cutting edge of silicon technology, Puneet’s involvement amplifies the caliber of thought leadership present at I.S.E.S. Middle East. In alignment with Saudi Arabia’s visionary ambitions, Dr. Naveed Sherwani and the National Semiconductor Hub Saudi Arabia unveiled plans to establish 50 IC Design Houses by 2030, laying the foundation for a burgeoning semiconductor ecosystem in the Gulf region. I.S.I.G. is also building a dynamic Investor Council composed of over 100+ venture capital and private equity firms dedicated to supporting the startup companies of our Members. This council will play a transformative role in fueling innovation and growth for emerging semiconductor companies, setting a new precedent for investment in the Middle East. We’re also honored to have industry visionaries like Lip-Bu Tan showing keen interest in the region. With his exceptional legacy in semiconductor investments, Lip-Bu’s support highlights the region’s promising trajectory as a semiconductor hub. With government backing, investor interest, and robust infrastructure plans, the Gulf’s semiconductor ecosystem is no longer just a vision—it’s rapidly becoming reality.
