After every 5K, enjoy the restaurants and boutique shopping of Riverwalk Shops, including the area's largest riverwalk deck along the beautiful Toccoa River. In the evening, stick around for free, LIVE music at TOONEYS all night long! The course takes runners through the charming downtowns of McCaysville, Georgia and sister city Copperhill, Tennessee. The community is united by a state line at the heart of historic Copper Basin. Covering 3.1 miles, the course crosses from Georgia into Tennessee and back into Georgia. Participants will also run alongside the famous Toccoa River and across the city’s iconic steel bridge—one of only a few left in America. The series was created by the McCaysville Business Association, a non-profit organization, to further the goal of fostering economic, cultural and social growth within the community. Drive up for the day or spend a weekend with family and friends in one of the area’s hundreds of scenic cabins. Located just a few miles north of Blue Ridge, Georgia, the region offers plenty of activates that include live music, rafting, craft beer breweries, hiking, fly fishing, and more! ?? Check out these photos from 5 YEARS AGO .. the 2020 Bigfoot Boogie 5K, our very first event. Back then, the hope was to get just 50 participants and maybe, just maybe, try to pull off at least three more the following year and become America's only 2-state 5K series! As it turned out, we had 146 finishers that day, which was all the proof needed to press ahead with more 5Ks the following year. Here we are, 5 years later and--as I write this--there are 281 registrations and our 5Ks are now official qualifying events for the AJC Peachtree Road Race!!! Every dollar raised supports the nonprofit McCaysville Business Association, which is the beating heart of why we do this: to shine a spotlight on the City of McCaysville, GA, the City of Copperhill, TN, and all the small businesses of our #CopperBasin community.
