Here are his top strategies for transforming your board meetings from endless slide decks to strategic accelerants: ?? ??????'?? ?????????? ?????????????????????? ???????? ?? ???????? ??????????? Too many CEOs approach board meetings with dread, as if they're heading into an interrogation. Flip the script. See these meetings as your chance to harness collective wisdom and accelerate growth. Keep materials simple, focus on what matters, and remember: great content can be repurposed for all-hands meetings and team updates. ??? ???????????? ???????? ?????????????? ????????????? The magic number? Four. Quarterly meetings give you enough substance to discuss while providing runway for execution. Add one annual strategic planning session, and you've got the perfect cadence. (Pro tip: Schedule a year in advance to avoid the calendar Tetris.) ?? ???????? ???????? ?????????? ????????????????????? Never let your board wonder why they're there. Start every meeting by explicitly stating what you need - whether it's strategic alignment, specific approvals, or network access. Clear objectives drive focused discussions. ?? ?????? ?????? ?????????????????? ????????-??????-????????? The "VP Parade" of functional updates? It's killing your momentum. Instead, distribute team updates as part of the board materials in advance, with team members available for Q&A rather than presenting slides—this encourages board members to review materials beforehand and allows meeting time for strategic discussions that move the needle. Your executives get visibility, your board gets insight, and everyone saves time. ?? ???????? ?????????????????? ?????? ?????????? Lastly, it’s imperative to send board materials out in advance, ideally four days ahead of the meeting. This helps your board members show up prepared with a list of questions or topics they want to dive into.
