??Regional drought and wildfires are a concern for the Hudson River watershed ??Climate change is creating intense bursts of rainfall and hotter, longer dry spells, leading to extreme dryness that caused the recent forest fires throughout the Hudson River Valley and New York City. ?? As of November 7, nearly 88% of the continental U.S. faces unusually dry conditions or drought — the highest in 25 years, according to the U.S. Drought Monitor. Most Hudson Valley Counties are currently under a drought watch and residents are strongly encouraged to continue to conserve water at this time.
