Riverfront North Partnership (formerly Delaware River City Corporation - DRCC) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit formed by former Congressman Robert Borski. Riverfront North Partnership is responsible for facilitating the implementation of the North Delaware Riverfront Greenway Plan, an initiative to create eleven continuous miles of riverfront greenway along the Delaware River in northeast Philadelphia, complete with trails, parks, green connector streets and trailheads. In addition to constructing the greenway, Riverfront North Partnership runs a variety of events and volunteer endeavors throughout the year along the greenway in an effort to reconnect the Philadelphia community to the river.

This week, we were grateful to be awarded $428,000 from the PA Department of Conservation and Natural Resources in support of Tacony Boat Launch improvements.?Many thanks to Pennsylvania Department of Conservation and Natural Resources and Philadelphia Parks & Recreation for helping to prioritize improved, safe and welcoming access for the boat launch, which is one of just three public launches on the Delaware River in Philadelphia. Please stay tuned for more updates as we work with the City of Philadelphia on more grants to complete the design and construction.?

We had a series of thefts and vandalism last month that impacted our work greatly. I'm proud of the RNP team for facing these challenges, being creative, and keeping their heads up. Well done!
As a part of our continuing efforts to connect parks with people, Riverfront North Partnership is pleased to announce the release of our request for engineering services to design the Magee Avenue Connector, a multi-modal community street linking Tacony neighbors, businesses and schools to the Delaware River Trail. This work follows RNP’s efforts to create a continuous 11-mile riverfront trail as well as safe, intuitive neighborhood connections to it. Last Friday, we had our first public mussel surveying event along Pennypack on the Delaware! Freshwater mussels can only survive in conditions that aren't heavily contaminated, which is an indication of the current health of the river. This is a great sign and speaks to the conservation efforts and research across many organizations in Philadelphia, such as Audubon Mid-Atlantic, The Discovery Center, Pennypack Environmental Center, and The Aquatic Research and Restoration Center. https://lnkd.in/edVekJZy

Last Saturday, Riverfront North Partnership with TTF Watershed held the third annual Fish Fest at the Frankford Boat Launch. The event came about to introduce audiences to this underutilized space and to activate it in positive ways. Over 300 people attended to fish, bike, make art, learn about the riverfront, regional trails and meet some of the great organizations working together to improve the health of the riverfront and the community; and also to learn from the community how we want to improve this space in its redesign. I'm so thankful for Mother Nature for bringing beautiful weather and for the many partners that gave their time and resources to help showcase what a great park this is and how much opportunity is on our riverfront.
