I recently wrapped up an incredible work experience in supply chain sustainability that transformed my understanding of ESG in retail! At River Island, I was fortunate to learn from true sustainability champions. Kelly Lovatt(Head of Responsible Materials), Alex Watson(Supply Chain Director), Adrian Stevenson (Social Sustainability Lead) opened doors to a world where business and planet-friendly practices align perfectly. The dream team of Jessica Wise, Lydia Hughes, Sacha Giovannoni and Catia C. showed me the powerful intersection of data-driven decisions, meaningful social impact, and real-world implementation—they're creating the blueprint for retail's sustainable future! Eva Grundon deserves a special spotlight for demystifying complex sustainability legislation and revealing how strategic compliance can create authentic environmental and social value across the supply chain. I gained insights into garment technology from Lisa Macdonald, and had enlightening discussions with Rob Andrews about fabric and product compliance. Lauren Grace Bull provided valuable knowledge about sourcing sustainable packaging materials.—every conversation expanded my horizons.
