Here at Rivendell, we have begun the construction process on our 24-bed expansion. Shovels are in the ground and the dirt is moving! We will continue posting progress updates over the coming months as we bring this much-needed addition to life. Exciting times here at the ‘Dell!

Our own Cliff Burnham has been nominated by the Committee on Accreditation of Recreational Therapy Education (CARTE) in recognition of his outstanding contributions to recreational therapy accreditation over the past decade. Cliff has played a key role in maintaining high standards in the education of recreational therapy students, serving as a practitioner reviewer on ten accreditation site visits. Patient safety and outcomes are a critical area of focus for our dedicated team. That is why we are excited to share that we are now certified to begin utilizing ObservSMART. This proximity-based safety system allows our staff to clearly observe and document patient safety checks. This rounding tool helps our staff to focus on keeping our patients safe and engaged in treatment. We want to thank our staff and the team from ObservSMART for all of their hard work this week!

We want to send a warm farewell to our now former CEO, Penni Worley. She is heading down to Central Florida Behavioral Hospital to take over as their new CEO. Penni has been the definition of what a leader should be, and we are all incredibly grateful for everything she has done for our hospital. We are excited to see all the amazing things she is going to accomplish in the sunshine state! Everyone here at the ‘Dell wishes you great success as you take this new step.
