These challenges often manifest as difficulties initiating and maintaining sleep, insomnia, and other sleep disturbances. In fact, a study based on parental reports indicated that a significant percentage of children aged 2-5 years with ASD encounter sleep problems, with the majority experiencing such issues daily, ranging from bedtime resistance problems to daytime sleepiness. By implementing and maintaining consistent bedtime routines tailored to the specific needs of individuals with autism, caregivers and professionals can enhance sleep quality and promote healthy sleep habits.
