Are skill gaps holding your team back from reaching their full potential??? A skills gap analysis highlights the gap between your organization's present and ideal levels of competence. It is essential for effectively focusing hiring and training efforts. Without one, many L&D initiatives are ineffective and out of alignment. Risely’s free Skills Gap Analysis Template breaks down the whole process for you, but for now, let’s look at these three essential steps for running an impactful skills gap analysis: 1?? Clarify Core Competencies: Outline the skills crucial to your team’s goals. 2?? Identify Gaps: Compare current skills with what’s needed. 3?? Is your manager evil? No matter how badly you want to scream yes, they are probably not! We are not here to play the devil's advocate (literally). But here's the thing—most managers are not trained to work with people. Instead, their brilliance as individual contributors is rewarded with a new role and a firm handshake to say, "good luck!" In this piece for Plum, Ashish explains the perils of unprepared people managers and tries to look into ways to build a holistic understanding of what a manager does. What do you think? Do read and share. ??
Is your manager making you miserable right now?? Not in the dramatic, headline-grabbing way, but in those small moments that pile up: the interrupted lunch breaks, the "quick questions" that spiral into hour-long meetings, the subtle implications that you're not doing enough. It's death by a thousand paper cuts, and each one feels personal. Here's the truth that might not make you feel better, but might help you understand: Two-thirds of managers never get real training. They were probably good at their job, got promoted, and then were left to figure out how to manage humans using nothing but gut instinct and half-remembered advice from their bad managers. They probably got said: Good luck ?? This doesn't excuse the midnight emails or the micromanagement or the way they sometimes make you feel small. Your frustration is real and valid. But knowing they're probably just as lost as you feel might help you navigate the chaos until something changes – whether that's them improving or you finding the exit sign. Ashish Manchanda has written a wonderful piece for our Humanise, please read here:?https://lnkd.in/gDq3V-C2

?? What if the most effective instrument in your management toolkit was kindness? Kindness and empathy are not merely "nice-to-haves" in the workplace; they are necessary for creating a positive team culture. Incorporating kindness in your leadership style changes how your team works together, develops, and even overcomes obstacles. As Loren Sanders, MBA, ACC,PHR,SCP,CPM, CPTM highlights, “Empathy is not a soft skill; it’s a strategic advantage. When we understand what employees go through and respond accordingly we can create a culture of care that reduces burnout and meets the values of the newer generational expectations.” This #WorldKindnessDay, take a moment to check in with your team. A simple “How are you?” or recognizing someone’s hard work will brighten your workplace. #Leadership #LeadershipDevelopment #WorldKindnessDay #Empathy
