A member-led alliance combatting systemic racial injustice by building economic resilience for marginalized communities.
关于我们
Since 1986, our team has partnered with low-income and Black, Indigenous and People of Color (BIPOC) communities to take back power from a racist system and build agency and control over their own success. Formerly the California Reinvestment Coalition, Rise Economy stands up against inequality and organizes for an economy that lifts communities toward justice by building a powerful movement for economic justice, focusing on knocking down the historical barriers BIPOC communities have faced in building generational wealth.

You might be living next to a Royal Bank of Canada-financed oil extraction well and not know it. Rise Economy is?joining environmental and community groups across North America in calling on the Royal Bank of Canada (RBC) and its subsidiary, City National Bank (CNB), to phase out financing for fossil fuels, address the environmental harm caused by their investments and end discriminatory lending practices. Active and idle oil wells contribute to substantial pollution and create disparate health outcomes among the communities living near the drilling sites. Idle, abandoned, and even plugged wells can create pollution and spillage?despite their decommissioned status. Use our interactive map to locate RBC-financed wells in your community here: https://lnkd.in/gN6-q-PE #RoyalBankofClimateChange #ResistReinvestRebuild ?? ???

What a fantastic day spent at the Rise Economy Action & Advocacy Conference at the California Community Foundation space in Los Angeles. There were great panels and incredible speakers, including Leah Rothstein, co-author of "Just Action: How to Challenge Segregation Enacted Under the Color of Law," and Secretary Julian Castro, CEO of Latino Community Foundation. Added bonus, attending the conference with my colleague Aimee Williams! Learned a lot about reinvesting in the community, how to protect and empower consumers, and a reminder of the importance of estate planning as a means of building inter-generational wealth.

Thank you Paulina Gonzalez-Brito and Jyotswaroop Kaur Bawa for inviting me to the inaugural Rise Economy Action and Advocacy Conference. It was a pleasure to connect with former Secretary of Housing and Urban Development, Julian Castro, and I enjoyed the panel discussion with Assemblymember Isaac Bryan and Los Angeles City Council Member Hugo Soto-Martinez about advancing an equitable future in California. It will take all of us working together to remove historical barriers for underserved communities to increase opportunities to build generational wealth and economic mobility.

An aspiring innovator unafraid to reinvent the wheel to create a future where all families live in financially prosperous, healthy, and equitable communities.
We are thrilled to announce that nphs has been honored with the Equitable Futures Award by Rise Economy for our innovative work advancing equitable financing solutions. This recognition celebrates ADUgo, our pioneering CRA-driven loan program designed to help underserved homeowners finance the construction of Accessory Dwelling Units (ADUs). By unlocking the potential of ADUs, we’re increasing housing options and empowering families to build generational wealth. A big shout out to Citi, First Citizens Bank, Sterling Bank & Trust, FSB, and U.S. Bank for being the first round of investors. We also extend our heartfelt gratitude to the Homeownership Council of America, the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency, and NeighborWorks America for helping us develop this groundbreaking initiative.

Congratulations to Rise Economy on a fantastic Action & Advocacy inaugural conference. Sessions centered relevant research and highlighted examples of public private partnerships that have made a demonstrable impact for underserved communities. While reminding us that the most pressing issues affecting those communities today are intersectional - whether we are discussing the lingering impact of redlining on asset building or the correlation between climate and housing insecurity. Citi was proud to sponsor the conference and the #EquitableFutureAwards where one of our own #communityprogressmakers nphs was honored for 30 years of tireless dedication to the Inland Valley communities. #citiincommunity #AAcon24 CC: Anabel Santamaria, Kevin Stein, Clemente Arturo Mojica Jr.
