"In a rapidly changing world of technological advancement and geopolitical uncertainty, Gallup set out to learn what people around the world need from their leaders -- simply by asking them.?The full results from what we found are detailed in the newly released?Global Leadership Report: What Followers Want." Turns out -?Hope, Stability, Security, Compassion?are what followers look for in leaders. We identified in our Leadership Breakfast Clubs 5 attributes of a leader -? ? Hope - The leader must constantly impart hope to the team that the desired outcome is indeed achievable. Security - The leader must believe that the team’s collective quality work creates security. Honesty - The leader must be truthful, which isn’t the same as transparency. A leader must understand that sharing some information will harm the team. Integrity -?The leader must follow a moral and ethical framework, even when others appear not to. Communication -?The leader must regularly check in with their followers to ensure they feel communicated with and aren’t experiencing gaps in the information they need to move forward. Turns out the two lists are quite similar. The questions are - which attributes do you bring with intention? Which do you seek? - Kyle

Happy Friday! Stephany Romero, PE and I started off the morning right... With coffee and Ripple Intent! Thank you HMC Architects for hosting the event. The topic you ask? #Communication Communication is like ? coffee—everyone has their own preferred style. Some like it bold and direct, others prefer it smooth and collaborative. Some get straight to the point (like an espresso shot), while others enjoy a detailed conversation (think a slow-brewed pour-over). ?? In the workplace, knowing your communication style—and understanding others’—can make all the difference. It can mean fewer misunderstandings, better teamwork, and more productive conversations. Are you the clear and concise type? The enthusiastic storyteller? Or maybe the active listener who asks the right questions? No matter your approach, great communication is about connection. So tell me—what is your communication style? Post in the comments.?? ?? BKF Engineers ?? ?? ? #CivilEngineering #Design #LandDevelopment #Transportation #WaterResouces #Survey

Another fantastic morning with the Ripple Intent Cult (IYKYK)! Today’s discussion was on communication—both from our strong points and our weak points—and it was very insightful. In just two breakfasts, I’ve gained so much perspective and truly see the value in carving out time to be part of these conversations. It’s a great group of people. If you have the chance to attend, I highly recommend it!

HMC Architects’ Sacramento office hosted a record turnout for the Ripple Intent Breakfast Club, where the discussion centered on #Communication. We explored how different personalities influence interactions, the various communication styles that shape relationships, and the role of self-reflection in improving dialogue. Participants gained valuable insight into personality types and communication styles, understanding how aggressive, passive-aggressive, passive, and assertive approaches impact dynamics. The discussion also highlighted how developing strong communication skills enhances soft skills, fostering better collaboration, leadership, and emotional intelligence in both professional and personal settings.

Ended last week with a Ripple Intent Breakfast Club at Hanbury Baltimore. Talking about ego in our work sparked some real, candid conversations— great to hear different perspectives. Thanks to everyone that came out, and thanks to Kyle Majchrowski for leading!
