关于我们
Riley's Way sees a future where kind leaders build a better world. We empower young people to use kindness, empathy and meaningful connections to drive that change. Riley's Way supports and connects young leaders around the country to become powerful voices and kind leaders in their communities. Our three flagship programs provide teen the tools and support to envision change and achieve it: Riley's Way Councils, the Call for Kindness, and Youth Leadership Retreat. 1) Riley's Way Councils bring together communities of students from different perspectives and supports them in becoming kind leaders. Currently, Councils consist of partnerships between public and private high schools. Council members work directly with a community group to make a different on a social justice issue through the lens of empathy and kindness. 2) The Call for Kindness is a national contest that funds teen-led projects that inspire kindness, strengthen communities, and bring people together. Winners receive up to $5,000 to fund their project and join a cohort of fellows from across the country in the Riley’s Way Kind Leadership Series, comprising mentorship, professional development, and peer-learning. Proposals can be for new projects or ideas that improve or expand existing teen-led initiatives. 3) The Youth Leadership retreat brings together nearly 100 inspirational young women and their mentors from around the country who are kind leaders and change agents in their communities. The weekend in September or October includes leadership skill building sessions, teen-led workshops, mentorship opportunities, and developing a network of like-minded peers. Riley's Way Foundation was established by Mackenzie & Ian Sandler in 2014 in memory of their daughter Riley Hannah Sandler.

"You had no reason to take care of me in the way you did. But I will tell you that 10 years afterwards, I still am so incredibly grateful for your kindness and for bringing me to my daughter that night. [That] was one of the kindest, sweetest things anyone's ever done [for me]." Check out the new “My Unsung Hero” piece from NPR featuring Ian Sandler, co-founder of Riley’s Way! I am honored to have?Riley's Way Foundation?included in the?#NewYorkTimesBestselling?new book?"What's Next"?by the brilliant Melissa Fitzgerald and Mary McCormack. It's "a behind-the-scenes look into the creation and legacy of The West Wing," as told by cast and crew, "exploring what made the show what it was and how its impassioned commitment to service has made the series and relationships behind it endure." The West Wing is my all-time favorite show. Growing up, I remember needing the room to be absolutely silent during the show and watching episodes on repeat. Becoming dear friends with the fabulous Janel Moloney (Donna!), and having Riley's Way as one of the organizations getting proceeds from book sales, is dreamy. Check out Fearless Fellow and 2021 Call For Kindness Winner Chris "CJ" Matthews of the Give Like CJ Project, whose mission is to spark kindness and encourage kids to show empathy for those dealing with difficult situations. CJ's inspirational story began when his family experienced the loss of his baby sister when he was five years old. His grief sparked the idea to help other children who might be dealing with similar feelings of sadness. Soon, a charitable project named "Blankies 4 My Buddies" was created, which has since grown into a globally-recognized organization that brings small tokens of comfort, like cozy blankets, to children dealing with traumatic situations from chronic illnesses to homelessness. CJ and his mom have authored an inspirational children's book titled, And Then There Was One, which highlights one boy’s determination to help others and keep his little sister’s spirit alive while coping with grief. The book is designed to help children cope with loss and grief, realize the power within themselves, and encourage them to give to others.
