Apps can be a great tool for teaching kids about kindness, empathy, and community building. Clothes For Care is a project that provides coats, hats, scarves, gloves, and other essential outerwear to veterans and individuals in need in the Metro Detroit area. Check out Fearless Fellows Shrusti Amula and Vayun Amula, founders of Rise N Shine Foundation and 2023 Call For Kindness Fellows! When Shrusti and Vayun learned that 1 in 9 people in their county struggle with food insecurity, they looked for a way to address this issue while also reducing food waste, which contributes to greenhouse gasses. Last weekend, I had the incredible opportunity to serve as a group mentor and a panelist at the Youth Leadership Retreat for Riley's Way Foundation. Connecting with such passionate and inspiring mentees was truly rewarding, and I loved attending the various workshops that encouraged growth, collaboration, and compassion. It was a privilege to watch the next generation of leaders in action and grow my Riley’s Way family in the process! Excited to continue supporting this amazing community as we work together to make a positive social impact. ??
