?? Exciting to see Raiyan Rana’s journey at Ontario Tech University highlighted! His remote internship at Pocket Clinic through Riipen's Advance Ontario program, supported by Education | éducation, has sparked innovation in health care and advanced manufacturing while helping him gain valuable skills to succeed in his future career. #ExperientialLearning #Innovation #AdvanceOntario #Internships
With the school year in full swing, we’re sharing the story of Raiyan Rana, a student at Ontario Tech University. Raiyan’s Riipen internship at Pocket Clinic Corp. combined life sciences and advanced manufacturing to create a biosensor that will make it easier for Ontarians to manage and treat chronic diseases. During his internship, Raiyan developed many industry-specific skills, including hardware, software and firmware development, which will help him thrive in the workforce. “I'm grateful to the Riipen initiative for the opportunity to contribute to meaningful health care innovation at Pocket Clinic Corp.,” said Raiyan. Medical technology internships like this one spark innovation, help to grow Ontario’s tech and manufacturing industries and create new opportunities for students in engineering and health care – all while bolstering Ontario’s economy. Ontario’s $2.7 million investment helped support approximately 1,000 Riipen internships in 2023-24. These opportunities give students – especially those from under-represented groups – the hands-on experience needed to get in-demand jobs after graduation.
