We give entrepreneurs a voice at the local, state, and federal levels through advocating for pro-entrepreneur policies with civic leaders and policymakers, grassroots organizing, and storytelling and media.

?? Starting a business is tough.?? It takes courage to step out of your comfort zone and a lot of perseverance to build and grow the business of your dreams. Every entrepreneur’s journey is filled with highs and lows, moments of doubt, and breakthroughs that make it all worth it. Today, we’re inspired by the story of one courageous entrepreneur, Ernest Comer III in Savannah, Georgia, who took a leap of faith to pursue his entrepreneurial dream. ?? Watch below to hear about his journey and let it remind you: dreams are worth chasing, and persistence makes all the difference. Thanks to Right to Start Advocate Kewaan Drayton for capturing this powerful story! Right to Start's mission is dedicated to removing issues that get in the way of starting and growing a business, so that more people in every community can build the businesses of their dreams. This can spur more homegrown jobs, higher incomes, stronger communities, and less poverty across a state, no matter where you live. Let’s celebrate the starters, makers, dreamers, and doers! Share your own entrepreneurial story in the comments—what got in the way, and what kept you going? ?? #LetUsStart #BuildYourDreams #Entrepreneur #Entrepreneurship #Savannah #Georgia

I edit a daily email newsletter about business owners and entrepreneurship, so I feel as though I have a pretty good grasp of what's going on, but every time I talk to Victor W. Hwang of Right to Start, I learn all sorts of things I didn't know. That was true a few weeks ago when we recorded a 21 Hats Dashboard podcast that focused on his recent roadtrip that took him to a series of surprising entrepreneurial hotspots. And it was equally true in our just-published episode in which Victor explained why he's so optimistic about entrepreneurship in America. For one thing, he can point to a lot of red tape being cut on the local level (did you know you can incorporate a business in Colorado for $1). But of course there's plenty of work to be done. One example: Do you realize how hard it can be for entrepreneurs to get a home mortgage? Wherever you get podcasts. #entrepreneurship #regulation

"City leaders have the opportunity to strengthen their communities by more actively supporting entrepreneurship in their cities; helping to dismantle the stigma that government acts as more of a barrier rather than a boon to starting or growing a business." --National League of Cities ?? Recently, over 100 changemakers gathered in Kansas City, MO, at the Ewing Marion Kauffman Foundation headquarters to celebrate a remarkable milestone: the conclusion of five years of the City Inclusive Entrepreneurship (CIE) program. Right to Start Founder and CEO Victor W. Hwang and Chief Government Affairs Officer Jason Grill captured the impact of entrepreneurship during a session on entrepreneurship trends: “If there is a 1% increase in entrepreneurship, there is a 2% decrease in poverty.” The event also showcased programs like The KC BizCare Office, which provides streamlined licensing and workshops for diverse entrepreneurs, as a model for empowering local business growth. Entrepreneurship isn’t just an economic driver—it’s a community builder. Read more here: https://lnkd.in/e3CWzVFN
