The mission of Right Moves For Youth is to help students in grades 6-12 make the most out of their education, connections, and opportunities to set themselves up for future success. Right Moves For Youth is a school-based, youth development and student support program focused on helping teens develop the skills to succeed in school and life. Using the 4 Pillar Model of educational attainment, social & emotional well-being, career exploration/college readiness, and civic duty/leadership, students grow together and build positive relationships to excel academically, socially and emotionally! Right Moves For Youth is synonymous with solutions.

To go from a student in Right Moves For Youth program to now leading and advocating for youth mental health Despierta is a full-circle moment.     Executive Director at Right Moves For Youth

    It’s hard to put into words how proud I am of Heidy Argueta , a former mentee of mine from the Right Moves For Youth program at Ranson Middle School. To see her now as the Bonita Rising Youth Program Director for Despierta , a non-profit in Charlotte, is truly inspiring. We were both invited to a fireside chat about changing the game in mental health for youth. Witnessing her growth from a student in the program to a leader in our community fills me with pride and gratitude. Heidy is a powerful reminder of the impact mentorship can have. I’m beyond excited for her future and all the lives she will continue to touch. A big thank you to the Charlotte Hornets for hosting such a meaningful event!

    Leading an organization dedicated to youth development, I’ve seen firsthand the power of?community?in shaping young lives. Group mentoring programming provided by Right Moves For Youth isn’t just about guidance—it’s about belonging, perspective, and shared growth. When students sit in a room with mentors and peers, they realize they’re not alone in their struggles or dreams. They gain wisdom from each other, build resilience through relationships, and develop the confidence to navigate life’s challenges. At?Right Moves For Youth, we believe success isn’t just about what you know—it’s about who’s in your corner. That’s why I’m so passionate about group mentoring.
