Remember, the Walnut Street Bridge is now CLOSED until 2026! Though we'll still have two other bridges to cross, many of us have utilized that bridge as a part of our day to day routine. Employee Spotlight - Meet Candace! If you're a caregiver with us, you've more than likely talked to Candace on the phone - sometimes more than once a day! A star Scheduler with us for over a year, she's one of the ones behind the wheel of this caregiving vehicle! Responsible for connecting caregivers to clients and keeping everyone on track with shift assignments, she may be soft spoken but she's a full force when it comes to that schedule staying full. With a passion for people, she finds this quote to be particularly impactful "Love is patient and kind; love does not envy or boast; it is not arrogant or rude. It does not insist on its own way; it is not irritable or resentful; it does not rejoice at wrongdoing, but rejoices with the truth." What's something you might not know about Candace? She's been in the medical field for 25 years, swam on a swim team for 5 years and was a girl scout for many years! What a "scout's honor" it is to have you on the team, Candace! Last week we got opportunity to set up an interview with the Chattanooga Times Free Press at our client Miss Emily's house. Her caregiver Amberlea has been with her for four years and we got to learn the ins and outs of their relationship, their routines, and their families. It was inspiring to hear about their deep connection and how they’ve become an extended part of each other's families - Emily’s husband, a poet and World War I veteran, passed before Amberlea had the chance to meet him. Yet, his spirit lives on through the countless stories and memorabilia shared about him, making Amberlea feel as though she knows him personally. We were so happy to see all the caregivers that stopped by for Professional Caregiver's Week last week, thank you for making the time! We also wanted to give a special shoutout to Miss Donya and Miss Teresa, two of our longest-serving caregivers we got to see this week. Teresa has worked with Right at Home for over 5 years and has worked as a caregiver for over 30 years. She primarily works overnights and travels wherever she is needed with great reliability. Teresa received Caregiver of the Month for Right at Home in January 2021, and was also nominated for caregiver of the year with the program through corporate. Teresa has worked on many 24/7 cases with Right at Home, clients with dementia/ALZ, Parkinson's, and on hospice. Donya has been with us for over 8 years now, working both in the office and in the field, and she’s truly a team player. She’s always willing to pick up last-minute shifts and is fantastic at helping train newer caregivers. Her ability to build strong, trusting relationships with both clients and their families is what sets her apart. Not only does Donya bring a ton of energy and humor to tough situations, but her dedication goes way beyond the job. In fact, she was even asked to attend a client’s funeral to support the family, a true testament to the deep connections she forms while still keeping things professional. Thank you sooo much to these ladies and all the caregivers on our team.
