At Ridwell, we get lots of ideas from our members on new categories and materials they’d like us to pick up, and we spend lots of time exploring where our community can have the greatest impact. Over the past few years, our members in South?Puget Sound have been asking for our help with glass. This week, we announced that residents of Pierce County and Olympia now have a new option for glass recycling with Ridwell. Read more in The News Tribune here: https://lnkd.in/gwMrabPH

Exciting to hear our very own Gerrine Pan this morning on the Bay Area's NPR station KQED, weighing in on how CA residents will be impacted by the state's recent moves to tackle plastic waste.
Recycling Expert | Entrepreneur | Strategic Partnerships Leader | Making connections for a healthier world
?? I've always admired those velvety?smooooth radio voices ?? ?? that report world news on NPR. This morning I was so jazzed to join them as a guest for this segment on California's Plastic Bag Bans. We discussed the effect bans will have, why plastic is actually hard to recycle, and why we are up to our ears in it! While excess single use plastic isn't the most soothing of news topics, our NPR host Alexis Madrigal delivered on the dulcet tones ?? .

Love this so much - one more reason to go to Target!
Thanks to our growing community, Ridwell is getting noticed and trying big things! Today, we’re celebrating our Ridwell plastic recycling pilot at five Target stores—two in the Bay Area and three in the Minneapolis area! We applaud Target for their commitment to reduce waste! Did you know? Target diverts waste from landfills through reuse, recycling, donation, and reduction strategies. We’re thrilled to offer Target guests the chance to find out how good it feels to keep more plastic out of landfills. Together, we’ll make a big impact in just a few months! Drop off hard-to-recycle plastic food packaging in select stores now through October 22. Think bar wrappers, chip bags, and produce netting—anything in our multi-layer plastic category! See participating stores and learn more: https://lnkd.in/e3u9WREi
