Congratulations to San Francisco Municipal Transportation Agency (SFMTA), for the successful launch of the new Via-powered Bayview Community Shuttle program, which will bring convenient on-demand transit to Bayview-Hunters Point — an area that has long endured environmental injustice and transportation challenges. We loved celebrating this week with SFMTA Director of Transportation Jeffrey Tumlin, SFMTA Director Dominica Henderson, Supervisor Shamann Walton, California Air Resources Board Member cliff rechtschaffen, the Citizens' Advisory Council, and Via's Krista Glotzbach. It was wonderful to connect with local community organizations including Community Youth Center of San Francisco (CYC),HUNTERS POINT FAMILY, MNC Inspiring Success, MAGIC, Candestick State Park, Providence Baptist Church, and Tallio's Coffee & Tea. For over a year, my colleagues at Via and I have been partnering with #CobbCounty (where I live) to reimagine equitable transit and harness technology that genuinely improves people’s lives. Last week, we hit a milestone—launching Cobb’s new #microtransit pilot, a service designed to make it easier for residents to connect to existing bus networks and park-and-ride options. Now, more people can access transit to shop, make dentist appointments, attend PTA conferences, and commute to Atlanta without needing a personal vehicle! … just to name a few! I’m excited to see this service grow to cover more of Cobb County, including my own neighborhood. Thank you so much to the dedicated staff at Cobb County! Let’s keep pushing for smarter, more connected communities! ??

?? Congratulations to our partner, St. Lucie County, Florida, for receiving praises from the National Association of Counties. The county’s award-winning, microtransit network, ART On Demand, has been celebrated for its innovative approach to public transit. Faced with the high cost of expanding fixed-route bus service — each bus costing $600,000 and $90 per hour to operate — the county turned to Via as a cost-effective alternative.
