Congratulations to Jeff Acerson! Today, the Utah State Senate confirmed Jeff Acerson for a second four-year term on the UTA Board of Trustees, where he will continue to represent Tooele and Utah counties. Board Chair Carlton Christensen shared: "A strong board of trustees includes a team of experienced leaders with unique viewpoints and a passion for the local issues affecting their constituents. UTA is fortunate to have Jeff Acerson continue as an integral part of the UTA Board of Trustees as we continue our commitment to innovative transportation solutions for the people of Utah." Since joining UTA in 2020, Trustee Acerson has brought a wealth of leadership experience from his decades of public service with Lindon City, the Utah Jazz 100 Club, and the 2002 Winter Olympics, as well as his background in teaching leadership at Utah Valley University. To kick off National Apprenticeship Week, we are highlighting two graduates of our apprenticeship program, David and Marko. Through training provided by UTA over the course of their careers, David and Marko have progressed to the ranks of journeyist and master journeyist mechanic, respectively. The Clearfield Station transit-oriented community (TOC) project received a Strengthening The Economy Through Transportation Award at this year’s 2024 Utah Transportation Conference earlier today. Clearfield City recently celebrated the progress being made to the project. TOCs like Clearfield Station integrate transit into everyday life, creating possibilities for economic development while minimizing congestion. The project will transform an estimated 1 million square feet of Clearfield City, turning Clearfield Station into a hub of urban life with work, shop, and play options all accessible by public transit. Safety is our highest priority at UTA. Video surveillance throughout our system creates a safer experience for both our riders and our employees. Not only does video surveillance help UTA accurately tell the story when infrequent incidents occur, it also has the power to save lives when used proactively. If you see a safety concern while riding our system, say something! Call UTA police at 801-287-EYES or text UTATIP and your report to 274637. #WeMoveYou

FrontRunner station platforms have been upgraded with gap fillers, closing the space between the station platform and the train so it is safer, easier, and smoother to board at any door. As a reminder, FrontRunner train doors do not open automatically. Please use the knock panels to open the doors. If you need assistance boarding, head to the accessibility symbol at the platform’s south end. A UTA employee will be happy to assist you. You can find more information about this enhancement and other accessibility options by visiting: rideuta.com/accessibility. We hope you enjoy this new improvement. #WeMoveYou
