2024 was a busy year. We’ve hired our first E-lixr captain. Meet Chis Yerkes, a maritime professional and environmental advocate! Chis brings a wealth of experience, from serving as a Search and Rescue Boat Captain with the U.S. Coast Guard in Kauai, Hawaii, to running private charters in Miami. Alongside his wife, he spent two years living off the grid in the Southern Caribbean aboard a sailboat, embracing sustainability through solar energy, rainwater collection, and self-sustained food sourcing. During this time, Chis sailed to 25+ islands, gaining expertise in navigation and environmental stewardship. Upon returning to Miami, Chis connected with Sam Payrovi and Nathalie Paiva at ARKHAUS, a social club focused on hospitality and sustainability in the maritime industry. Inspired by their mission, he joined full-time, bringing his passion for sustainable maritime solutions to the team. Chis’s extensive background in maritime operations and sustainability makes him the perfect fit as captain for our E-lixr water transport services.
